What is your support style?

I would describe my support style as very holistic. As a Lactation Consultant, I always like to find out what is the main concern of the family that I'm working with, but I also like to dive a little deeper and find out are there any other sources of stress in their lives. I ask, “how did the birth go? What else is going on in your life?” I believe that all factors into the breastfeeding experience. And while I can't always address those pieces, I can offer a little bit of empathy and just recognize that all of our experiences are interconnected.

What is something people would be surprised to know about you?

I was very seriously considering going to culinary school, thinking about being a chef. I also actually applied to Russian literature, pH. D programs at one point as well. And I can just say for the record, I'm really glad I didn't choose to do either of those things.
