Meet the experts

Carly Bravo, Certified Nurse Midwife

As a Midwife and Nurse Practitioner, Carly recognizes that the transformation to parenthood is much more than simply the birth alone. She enjoys working with families to have an integrated, and empowered pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience. Carly believes in shared decision making, recognizing that while she has formal training in Midwifery, the people she cares for are the experts in their own bodies and their own specific physical, emotional, and informational needs.

Paige Bellenbaum, Founding Director of The Motherhood Center

As a Social Worker for over 20 years, Paige has a knack for getting things done that haven't been done before. After experiencing severe postpartum depression and anxiety after the birth of her son, she suffered silently for many months before she received treatment. Once she began to feel better she got angry that nobody was talking about how common perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) are. She drafted PMAD education and screening legislation for New York State that was signed into law, and then went on to help create and open The Motherhood Center, a first of its kind PMAD clinical treatment facility located in NYC. Think you might be experiencing perinatal depression or anxiety? Reach out to The Motherhood Center to get support.
